Marking the return of in-person performances at the New Victory Theater, tickets go on sale today for the world stage premiere of Generation Rise and the holiday performances of Jug-Band Christmas by Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter.

Generation Rise will kick off the 2021-22 season of the New Victory Theater on November 5 and run through November 14. Written and directed by Sara Zatz and Kirya Traber, Generation Rise is an interview-based production featuring black, Latin American and Asian teens from New York City telling their own stories and reflecting on their lives before, during and after 2020 – a year of crisis and metamorphosis.

New Victory will celebrate the holiday season with the New York premiere of Jim Henson’s Jug-Band Christmas by Emmet Otter, which begins performances on December 10, 2021 and runs through January 2, 2022.

Based on the book by Russell and Lillian Hoban and the popular classic holiday special by Jim Henson, the show follows Emmet Otter and his mother as they enter a talent contest on Christmas Eve in the hope of winning prizes. to buy holiday gifts.

This stage adaptation by iTheatrics in association with The Jim Henson Company features an adorable mix of performers with puppet characters from the famous Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, with a book by Timothy Allen McDonald and Christopher Gattelli and a breathtaking score by the award winner. Guests aged 12 and over must provide full proof of vaccination to attend a show at the New Victory Theater.
