Steel Panther Asks Fans For Help Picking Up Next Bassist

Who will eventually take over the bass duties of Steel Panther after the release of Lexxi Foxx this year? You might have a say in that decision, as Steel Panther sifted through all audition submissions and reduced the number of potential bassists, allowing fans to weigh in on the remaining candidates for the vacant place in the group.

The current trio of Michael Starr, Satchel and Stix Zadinia have maintained their tour without Foxx, employing guest bassists, but they have also spent their time going through the more than 1,669 submissions received. Those who submitted were invited to show a video playing various songs from the band’s catalog while also explaining why they would be the perfect replacement.

Now, they’ve narrowed it down to a 32-bracket final competition asking fans to help them narrow it down to the bottom eight. Each day, two finalists will be posted on their Steel Panther “Road to the Road” website for fans to have a chance to vote for their favorites. Rikki Dazzle and Rikki Thrash’s first entries have both reached the final and both musicians will perform with the group on their December dates.

“Two finalists are in the running, eight more to be selected. This is where you come in! Welcome to the Road to the Road tournament, ”the group said. “Out of over 1669 submissions we have narrowed the field down to the top 32 and we want YOU to help us determine the top 10! Each day through December 24th, we feature two bassists as we progress through the installment below. All you have to do is watch the videos and vote for your favorites! Let the games begin!!”

So come back every day to make your voice heard and this trio will soon become a quartet again.

As noted, two of the musicians vying for the spot will have their chance on stage with the band this month. The group has eight more dates before the schedule hits 2022 and you can get ticketing information here while checking the cities, locations and dates below.
