A pop star like Selena Gomez could have been an unlikely Coldplay collaborator on previous albums. Sure, they worked with Beyonce, but the band’s indie rock roots still ran deep. Enter the Music of the spheres times, however, and a lot has changed. They’re working with Max Martin on production, collaborating with the world’s biggest K-Pop group, BTS, and yes, they’ve signed on Selena for a feature film on a new track. The band and Gomez shared the news today, along with a brief clip from their new collaborative track.
While Selena just shared the music on Twitter, the Coldplay account offered a bit more information about the song as well. It’s called “Let Somebody Go” and, as mentioned earlier, will be part of Music of the spheres, which falls on October 15. What they does not have share in the teaser, however, is when this new single will be shared. So stay tuned for updates for this. Check out the teasers below:
For his part, Gomez has also had a pretty busy year. She released her very first Spanish-language EP, Revelation, and received a strong positive response from fans to the project as it topped the Latin charts. Looks like she’s gonna sing in English for that last track, but you never know.
