A BAND with a difference will bring its musical fusion to Northwich later this year.
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers will perform at Northwich Memorial Court on November 26.
Formed in 2002, in recent years the Red Hot Chilli Pipers have grown into the most famous bagpipe group on the planet.
The band‘s achievements have reached incredible heights, with a revolutionary fusion of traditional Scottish music and rock / pop anthems – proudly called ‘Bagrock’.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The Chilis have never been in greater demand for their contagious style of feel-good music that appeals to all ages and people all over the world.
“They have assembled an impressive group of musicians, dancers and singers from Scotland and beyond, many of whom hold World Championship titles and all of them very good players with impressive credentials and qualifications.
“In 2014, The Chilli Pipers released a DVD and a live CD titled ‘Live at the Lake’.
“During an explosive evening of entertainment captured on this live DVD and CD, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers recorded their most adventurous project to date – bringing 16 musicians and dancers across the Atlantic to perform at the Milwaukee Irish Fest, the group’s American spiritual home. .
“In February 2019, the Pipers and Tom Walker released a new version of his massive hit ‘Leave a Light On’.
“The release is benefiting Nordoff Robins, the music therapy charity, and it went straight into the iTunes top five.
“The collaboration was born after Tom played for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers at Murrayfield Rugby Stadium ahead of the Six Nations Scotland v Italy game.
“In June 2019, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers released a new studio album titled ‘Fresh Air’ – an exciting combination of all new songs and carefully curated covers.
“In a new start for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, many songs include lead vocals.
“Some of the highlights are ‘Leave the Light On’ with Tom Walker on vocals, ‘Hallalujah’ by Leonard Cohen and ‘Shut Up and Dance’ by American band Walk the Moon.
“Both songs feature incredibly talented singer Chris Judge on vocals.”
