Dashboard Confessional Announces Intimate Solo Shows, Shares New Single “Burning Heart”

Confessional Dashboardthe eighth album of, All the truth I can tell, due out next month, and the latest single is “Burning Heart,” another stripped-down, deeply felt acoustic song reminiscent of the band’s early days. “In the song, there’s this feeling of, okay, let’s go! Are you ready? Because it’s starting!” said Chris Carrabba. “It was the first one I wrote for the new album and it’s the only outlier in the band. That night I wrote a song that I was so sure of. Not that it was right good, but that she was powerful in a way, too. The vanity of this song reflects the fact that I’m holding back a lot. I have a lot to say to the person I love right now. The idea in that context is that i’m here to fight for it i wanted a song that takes a look at a difficult conversation with the feeling that even if things are not right at the moment they can be fixed if it’s necessary enough, enough wanted. In this context, the conceit of the song is between two people in a relationship – well, you only hear one side. That’s the biggest part of the conceit: what if you only hear one side? ‘one side of the conversation?’
